I often get asked exactly how does affiliate marketing work?  So I decided to give away some free training to give you some idea how it all fits together.  So you can grab your free affiliate marketing tutorial in the video below.

Remember if any of the jargon frightens you or is confusing it wont be for long.  I’m the least technical guy out there and I’ve managed to get a grip on the “jargon”.  If there is anything at all you don’t understand or you want more information on leave a comment below and I’ll answer for you right here.  If there are enough request for a particular topic I’ll make another video for you.

I’m going to say this one more time before you watch the video, you don’t need to “be good with computers” to make a living with affiliate marketing.  As I’ve said many times I could send an email, use a spreadsheet and type a letter on a computer when I started this business… and not a lot more.

This affiliate marketing tutorial is meant to be an introduction to the topic so I hope it gives you a few insights.

Hope you know a little more about how affiliate marketing works now.  Leave your thoughts, feedback and questions below and I’ll get to each and every one of them.

Hi Joe I have been intouch with you before with regard to this type of selling but i got preocuppied there for a while with my own business of selling kitchens and unfortunatley it has not worked for me so well but any way it was great to see this video but i had one question how do you get it out to people do you send them emails or advertise in the local paper or what this i could not figure or is it that you go to the adwords and look up what people are typing in and then find a product that relates or maybe just everything. I would love to get in to this type of selling it sounds fantastic. is there a specfic product that you think i could buy that would give me the basis on a very simply starter course to make money however small from the word go.
    looking forward to your response

    regards

    Hi Joe,
Really enjoyed the training on affiliate marketing .Gave me some food for thought .At the moment I am researching an ebook which is taking me longer than I thought but then it’s all a learning curve.
I think as you say affiliate marketing has to be done right or the results will be disappointing.

Excellent – I will listen again over the weekend as I have now decided to ‘bite the bullet’ and really get involved in this type of business – frankly the ‘technology’ element has been my achilles heel!!
By the way – Andrew Reynolds still trying to get me to join him in business – even if I had a spare £8K – I am wary.
    Rgds & enjoy your weekend

  • Joe Hughes says: February 26, 2011 at 7:11 am

    Gill,

Glad I can help, it shows you don’t need to spend $8,000 on a seminar to learn about this business. I’ve learnt more from $97 and $197 courses than any of those high ticket biz ops.

Gill you can buy me a beer if we ever meet, keep me up to date with your progress.

  • Joe Hughes says: February 26, 2011 at 7:17 am

    Peter,

Been there done that! Nightmare emploting people, having massive overheads to worry about.

There is a better way. My fixed overheads are around $500 a month. My staff are on month to month contracts and cost me $550 each per month! My return from these staff members is around 1,500% just from the seo business alone, so its not really an overhead.

Get as much education as you can (check with me before buying) and start trying things out. If you have persistence (which you clearly have) you will make a success of it.

    Hi Joe,

Over the last few months I’ve been looking at a lot of sites about setting up an Internet Marketing Business. Biz Ops mentor was one of the first sites I came across (now I know why!) and I was truly stunned by the quality of the free information you were giving out.

I’ve been on a “journey” since then going down the list of advisers and “Guru’s” collecting lots of emails and information from people offering training and products (there really is TOO much of it!). I found it very interesting educating myself but it also distracted me from getting on and making money. A risk I think you were the first to identify!

Now, I’ve sat down today to start my first site your free training email has dropped in. I have to say it really does cover all the main elements of the simplest, quickest, cheapest way I’ve found of making money on the internet. And you reveal the real price is that you do have do some work. More than just pressing a button! Still sounds a good deal to me.

A word of advice to anyone like me just starting out in the Biz Ops world. You can go and do the research too and deluged with information or keep it here and use the time to start making money. You’ll end up back here anyway in 2 months, 3 months or more!

Thanks for the tutorial Joe. Good quality. Good information. Good accent!

    Take care.

    Kevin

    Hi Jason,

The way I do it is to get ranked in Google in the first three positions and get free traffic. Perhaps watch the viedo again as well as it will give you more ideas.

I’m sending details out of a cheap course from a really good guy in the next couple of days, it will really help you get up and running.

    Joe

  • Joe Hughes says: February 26, 2011 at 9:14 am

    Hi Allan,

Good luck with the ebook. Don’t spend too long on it, the marketing and getting visitors to your site is THE most important part. It would be good for you to start looking at how to drive traffic so when you have a product you can get it in front of people.

    Joe

  • Joe Hughes says: February 26, 2011 at 9:15 am

    Ian,

Nice to hear from you again. You’ve taken the first step you just need to learn more about seo and how to get up those rankings.

    Joe

  • Joe Hughes says: February 26, 2011 at 9:18 am

    John,

Same here with the technology, still makes me feel a bit sick when I have to learn something new.

Only way to learn is to get your feet wet. Give it a go John, it takes a bit of patience at first but once you get moving it’s just a case of rinsing and repeating.

  • Joe Hughes says: February 26, 2011 at 9:22 am

    Hi Kevin,

Great to hear from you again.

You’ve made a really important point here, you can get too much information, especially when you don’t know who to trust. Best bet is to buy a product and put the advice in to action. See the results and then tweak with the help of more education. Once you have a couple of sites upyou start to learn what the gaps in your knowledge are. I still buy products almost every week but I only buy stuff that fits in with my strategy.

Oh and Kevin you should be my PR man, what a comment! Much appreciated!

    Dear Joe,

Found your video very refreshing in that I was able to understand all content as you present in a very “newbie friendly way. I have been trying to get started in Internet business since about 18 months now but have yet to build a proper website ?! I have recently commenced doing George Brown’s ” GoogleSniper ” course as you recently recommended this and I have found that it does deliver what it claims, but I am getting a bit stuck with installing wordpress and other techie details .Look forward to hearing this new product launch you mentioned in the video. Are you able to advise about website building as I have a Domain Name with LifeDomains.net but have yet to build a proper website of my own. Sorry this is so long, look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Alan.

  • helena says: February 26, 2011 at 1:37 pm

thanks joe for taking the time to do this video its great but what i was wondering is when you get the link from clickbank you said that you send it to people but who do you send it to and how? i am a real newbie dont even know how to build a website and would like some tips on that also how do you get the photos of the product onto your website? see told you i was a real newbie!!!!

  • Joe Hughes says: February 27, 2011 at 2:13 am

    Hi Alan,

Good to hear you are taking action. I’ll try and help getting your site up. Have you got hosting yet? Perhaps you could email me and I’ll try and help.

    Thanks

    Joe

  • Joe Hughes says: February 27, 2011 at 2:16 am

    Helena,

    All good questions!

Regarding photos a lot of the time the owner of the product will supply you with photo’s.

In terms of the link from clickbank there are 2 ways to go. You either build a list and then email your list the link. Or you build a website (which is really easy) and put the link on the site. Everytime someone clicks on the link on your website and then buys the product you get paid.

The emails I’m sending out over the next week will help you understand more.

    Thanks

    Joe

Joe, Not looked at computer untill today but thanks for the video, It has given me the inspiration to try something I was a bit scared of before. It is really nice to know that there are genuine good guys out there!

  • Joe Hughes says: February 28, 2011 at 5:20 am

    Hi Andy,

Let you in to a little secret. We are all scared to try. It’s the people who do it anyway that have success.

Go for it Andy, it’s not instant but you can make a great income for yourself.

  • Joe Hughes says: February 28, 2011 at 5:22 am

    Len,

The drive to succeed is all that’s needed. Everything else can be learned/copied from other people.

Great thing about the internet is you can see what your competitors are doing to get their success.

    Dear Joe,

Thanks for your prompt reply, I have now subscribed to bluehost.com for web-hosting as this was suggested by George Brown as I am trying to persevere with his course as I said earlier. My plan is to create a site initially for information products including health promotion products with a special focus on mental-health/ self-help psychology as this is my profession. I am currently a community mental-health nurse working with the older-age group, but hope to fully retire some time this year.(God Willing!) Would be immensly grateful for any assistance/guidance you can provide.

    Yours,

Excellent video Joe! I have been receiving your reviews and free advice for some time now and, just like a lot of other newbies out there, I have spent considerable time and money trying to succeed in affiliate marketing. You are obviously a very genuine guy and I look forward to learning more from you. Thank you very much again!

  • peter says: March 1, 2011 at 4:01 am

    Hi, Joe,

I cannot thank you enough for your platinum valued support. You might think because they are free, we do not value them, truth is, we read your mails over and over again and absorb each word, because you break them down to simple steps and then, oh the valuable little tricks and info!!!.

From the above video, (correct me if I am wrong), I gather that there are two appraoches:

    1. create a one page blog for the niche or product and the contents do not change….and/or
    2. create or start a newsletter/community, to build your list and then flog products, but how do you get contents to speedily build your list. Is there no faster route to building traffic.
    3. We really need this traffic building Technics, tricks or strategy.

Now talking about tricks, You suggested creating your own products. I am interested in writing ebooks. A lot of Gurus say how simple it is to do in 12 clicks, but, where do you get materials from, and use quickly, what are the tricks here, how do you publish, must you do JVs with other websites who already have the traffic in the same niche, or can you create a website and just publish? I am afraid if you just publish, you might not sell as much because you do not have the market.or is there a better/faster/easier way.

Your kind insight would be highly appreciated.

    Peter

  • Joe Hughes says: March 1, 2011 at 4:45 am

    Peter,

Thanks for the positive feedback Peter, it means a lot!

For these niche sites I suggest at least 3 pages but it’s better if you can do 5. As you said the content does not change, set and forget.

Your second approach is also correct although it depends on the niche. In biz ops or gaining muscle it’s worth creating a list as you can build a long term relationship with them and they are also likely to buy multiple products over a period of time. Other niche’s its not worth it, for instance the wedding niche.

Peter your other questions are all very good but I can’t really respond here. Email me via the site and I’ll get back to you.

    Thanks

    Joe

Some of it still a bit technical for me but I’ll stay with it…

I do want to get stuck into this..

    Hello Joe,
I’ve listened to your video several times and have to say that it is excellent. As a professional trainer of many years standing I believe your presentation was first class. It was clear and concise. You have a way of putting yourself in the position of the student….. which, I’m sorry to say, many professional trainers simply can’t.
It is obvious that although you strive to make a good living you also have sound moral standards. I find this to be refreshing.
If you ever decide to develop a training course let me know as I would love to involved.
It was a most informative 28 mins and 53 seconds. Well done!
    All the best,

    Al

  • Joe Hughes says: March 2, 2011 at 11:20 am

    Al,

Wow, thank you. I’m passionate about the subject so perhaps that comes through. I can put myself in the place as the student because I was a newbie not long ago, plus I learn every day.

Hopefully I can help you more in the future. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
